TheSaber
Diesel-electric. Extended range.
Built to finish.
Built in the shop.
Proven in the dirt.
Flux Capacity Racing builds The Saber, a solid-axle off-road race truck driven entirely by an electric traction motor and fed by an onboard Cummins diesel generator.
It's a truck from Turntide, Current LA and DXR Dynamics, and the proving ground for DXR's generator and electric drives.
Engineer it
Every bracket, link and ram is laid out, modeled and checked before the first tack weld.
Electrify it
Instant torque from a traction motor, with a diesel genset so we never wait on a charger.
Race it
Logged data from every test run feeds the next version. The desert is the proving ground.
Electric torque.
Extended range.
A JL-based race truck on Rock Krawler Rockzilla suspension with Currie 60 axles, Fox coilovers and full hydraulic steering. The engine never turns the wheels: it makes electricity, and the motor does the rest.
- — TT-EDU 300D traction motor · 648 kW peak
- — Cummins QSF2.8 genset · ~50 kW continuous
- — 55 kWh LFP battery · 40 gal diesel
